There are many problems that your air conditioning system may experience over its entire lifespan. One of the most common is a problem with its blower components. If you notice that your outdoor condenser unit is running, but you don’t hear the blower fan working, then it’s a key indication of a blower motor problem. The majority of the time this issue happens, it’s due to a frayed fan belt that finally tears off the pulley. In some cases, it could be due to a burnt motor that no longer functions.
Another problem you may run into is that your air conditioning system doesn’t start up for you. If your thermostat screen is blank, then the culprit could be a few different things. It could be a faulty thermostat, loose wiring, a tripped circuit breaker, or dead batteries. If the thermostat is working, but your outdoor condenser unit won’t turn on, listen for a clicking noise.
If you hear the click, it’s an indication that the starter capacitor is faulty. This part is responsible for sending a jolt of energy to the compressor motor to get it going. If it fails to send that energy, then the compressor pump simply won’t turn on. This is a fairly complex part to replace, so it’s best to contact one of our skilled HVAC technicians for expert help.
